- My journey with the Inter-American Foundation (IAF) began while I was still in my second year at Cine Institute. The IAF is a U.S.-based public institution that supports grassroots development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
It was always exciting to step outside the classroom, camera in hand, and document daily life. Those first two years provided me with invaluable experience a rare opportunity to grow professionally while staying close to the people.
Working with IAF has deepened my humanitarian commitment and my respect for the environment. The experience humbled me. It taught me how much dignity and strength can exist in communities that often remain invisible especially among farmers who live in deep connection with their land and neighbors.
These lessons of solidarity, hope, and resistance continue to shape my filmmaking today. My ongoing collaboration with IAF includes photography, reporting, and organizing initiatives that help share the voices of these incredible individuals.
This work enriches me, both professionally and personally. It reminds me that storytelling is not just about observation it’s about listening, and honoring what you witness.
